Saying Goodbye to a loved one

There’s many different ways to say goodbye to a loved one. Many families want a single service at a crematorium to which everyone who knew your loved one is invited. Some families like a private or small service, in a crematorium or at a graveside. Others prefer a larger memorial service, perhaps in a church, hall or at rooms provided by an undertaker. There’s no right or wrong way to commemorate your own loved one, except what is right for you. Whether you are looking for a small or large service or for a private or public celebration of your loved one’s life I can enable you to craft the unique service that is appropriate to you.

I’m a naturally gentle celebrant with a clear voice and confident delivery of material. I provide a bespoke service throughout Fife and Dundee. I usually provide:

  • A home visit or meeting in a location of your choice.
  • I write up each service to your personal requirements.
  • I conduct or co-ordinate the service ensuring it is completed on time and with dignity.

I understand that this is a difficult time, it can be hard to know what to do. The first place to go when arranging a funeral is your chosen funeral director.

Ask your Funeral Director for my services:

– A local funeral director is family focussed and will provide a bespoke service.
– It’s best to choose your funeral director on whether or not they are a good fit for what you require, so try to form an idea of what you want for your loved one, even just a simple outline will help.
– When comparing estimates, remember to check that the quoted prices are like for like, so that you get the quality of service you require.

Any undertaker should provide you with the celebrant of your choice. Some of the Funeral Directors I work with are:

Macgregor’s Funeral Directors

Sturrock Comb and Davidson

Steven Stewart Funerals

James Ashton and Sons

Crosbie Matthew

Methven Gray, Newburgh

Peter Murray, Anstruther

Grief can be a very different experience for different people. Take your time to decide what is right for you and for your particular loss. Knowing what you want may help the experience of saying goodbye, and may allow you some creative control over that special service.
